Cirque-du-Soliel

Ahoy! Yesterday was my girlfriend's birthday and it went perfectly, thank you for asking. I'm fortunate enough to be dating someone who enjoys things just as as much as they enjoy experiences. Seeing as we both live in Vegas and the Strip itself is five minutes away... we ended up going to see the Cirque show Mystere at Treasure Island. The show was magnificent and I'd highly recommend it for couples or anyone who loves live theater and surreal storytelling. The costumes were superb, the stage was incredible, and the theater itself was large, yet intimate. If you haven't seen Mystere, I can't recommend it enough. Cheers.

Back in the Reedsy

Howdy! I hope this blog post finds you well (whoever you are). Most of my posts jump from topic to topic although you'll find some consistency in the creative field since I'm a writer. This week I'm typing away at a short story for a writing contest and it's shaping up to be a good one. I've mentioned the website Reedsy in the past, but if you're interested, check it out at: www.reedsy.com You'll find a wealth of writing tools on their platform on the professional side, as well as writing contests that differ from week to week.     This week is "twists." I'm not generally great with twists, because I don't necessarily write with that intention. I've written some scenes that I felt were great and even had an unexpected payoff but that was only because I wrote myself into a corner. I try to retain a degree of believeability, even if it borders on unreal. It still has to make enough sense to work, but like I said, I write myself into a co

Death Stranding

Greetings reader, As you may have guessed by the title (or not), I have just finished the video game Death Stranding. I'm a few years late, and in all honesty, had started playing it about two years back but would go months at a time without picking it up. It's weirdly a hard game to recommend even though I absolutely loved it. I'm going to talk a little bit about the game as if you (the reader) aren't in the loop.     Death Stranding is a video game written and directed by Hideo Kojjima (Metal Gear Solid series) for the Playstation 5 that has gotten a strange/bad rap for being known as a "walking simulator." While it's an ignorant label, it's not entirely far off the mark either. The premise of the game is you're Sam (played by Walking Dead's Norman Reedus), a cargo transporter in a world filled with evil entities/ghosts known as BT's and your mission is to deliver packages across plains, mountains, etc. without getting caught, slipping,

Post 19 - Updates and More

Greetings! It's summer in Las Vegas and if you happen to be in America, you may have seen that we've been breaking records lately (yay, 120 degrees F... something that shouldn't be celebrated). It's also the slow season at work, so combine the two factors, and you're looking at me staying inside and avoiding unnecessary trips outside. This has actually been a boon for me as I redirect my energy into productivity.     The first update that I'm excited to share is I randomly did my first paid voice acting gig a couple days ago. Creatively it wasn't as exciting as say doing voice acting for your favorite animated show or commercial... it was modeling speech recognition software with an AI. It was monotonous, it was somewhat boring, and it was excellent at showing me what the company was looking for as far voice talent was concerned. We had to retake some of my lines since it was my first time doing something like this but overall I'd say it was a great fir
